Only in the Amazon rainforest rubber trees grow wildly. Rubber tappers collect the latex, which is the sap of the trees in the deepness of the rainforest. The trees can be productive for generations. The latex is brought to a production unit near the family’s house where the liquid will coagulate into rubber. The production method is easy, clean and smoke-free. Each family preserves an average of 500 hectares when they are able to make a living from this rainforest product. Because of this, rubber tappers are considered guardians of the Amazon rainforest.
